Busch Stadium Tops Wrigley Field in USA Today Poll
This is going to be a controversial conversation, but I'll just tell it like it is. USA Today readers have said that Busch Stadium is a better place to watch baseball than Wrigley Field. Let the flame wars begin.
Full Disclosure: I am an unapologetic lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan. To say that I am not an objective bystander is an understatement. However, this stadium declaration does not originate from me. This is a new USA Today Reader's Poll where their audience named the 10 best MLB stadiums. Here are just the facts with me interjecting no opinion at all about where each stadium ranked.
Wrigley Field - 10th best MLB stadium
Busch Stadium - 4th best MLB stadium
How did USA Today confirm the truth decide that Busch Stadium is better than Wrigley Field?
Here are their exact words: "we asked an expert panel to nominate their top picks for MLB stadiums, then readers voted to determine the winners". Can I swallow my pride and admit that I was genuinely surprised that Wrigley Field was less popular than Busch Stadium in their poll? While I do have allegiance to the Cardinals, I recognize the rich history of Wrigley Field with its iconic ivy-covered outfield walls. It also has history that dates back to 1914 while the newest incarnation of Busch Stadium just turned 20 this year.
I'm sure I'll have many Cub fans snarling at me for sharing this, but too bad. It's Opening Day for our teams today and, as a Cardinals fan, I'll take every victory I can get this season.
