Missouri’s Quietest Town is Halfway Between St. Louis and KC
Do you enjoy peace and quiet? I sure do and that's why I'm a big fan of a tiny Missouri town that has been declared as the quietest place in the state.
This is apparently the quietest town in Missouri
I'm at the stage of my life where I'd like everyone to keep it down. That quest led me to a recent article by World Atlas which listed the 7 quietest places in Missouri. At the top of their list is Arrow Rock, Missouri which is one of the state's smallest towns with a population of just 60 and that's being optimistic. If you look at Arrow Rock from the 10,000 foot view on a map, you'll see it's squarely in the middle of Missouri nearly halfway between the biggest cities of St. Louis and Kansas City.
While Arrow Rock, Missouri is a tiny place, it's absolutely packed with history. The Sante Fe Trail and historic Lewis and Clark sites are prevalent there, but it's just far enough north of I-70 that it's not a big tourist trap. Other than the Mark Twain National Forest part of Missouri, Arrow Rock is about as off the beaten path as you can get in the state and that's what's earned it the covered "quietest place" trophy.
