Guy Fieri has visited over 1,400 diners, drive-ins, and dives across the country, but has yet to try one of Illinois' best diners.

I'm all about breakfast, brunch, and trying hole-in-the-wall restaurants all across the Rockford region.  Over the weekend, I tried a new diner I didn't even know existed and I feel like Guy Fieri needs to visit them at least once in his life.

I've shared my favorite brunch spots around Rockford, including The Norwegian, Ernie's Midtown Pub, Jerry's Cafe, and Greenfire.

As of last weekend, I finally tried Ned's Diner in Belvidere.  Was it worth the visit?

Guy Fieri Has Yet to Visit One of Illinois' Best Diners

In all my years of being on Earth, I've never found a diner with such a diverse menu to cater to all kinds of customers, until I went to Ned's.

Instantly, I saw loaded Bloody Mary's, mimosas, freshly-squeezed orange juice, so many kinds of skillets, eggs benedict, waffles, pancakes, an avocado chicken melt, Philly Cheesesteak, Tex-Mex Chicken Wrap.. the list goes on.

"There's no better place to eat than the roadside diner. Once you come through the doors, you know you're going to get some great food. Ned's Diner is an all-American local dine located on the northwest corner of Belvidere right on business 20 (state street) between Belvidere and Rockford." [Ned's Diner]

I ordered a Southern Eggs Benedict, frisco skillet, and two mimosas.

Not only did we eat all of the food and sip our mimosas down until it was dry, but the whole vibe in the diner felt "like home".  Everything seemed to be made with love.

Overall, I'd say Ned's Diner is totally worth the drive if you're looking for a filling brunch, delicious food, and drinks to start your day off right.  I give them a solid food rating of 8.7/10.  Like I say, there's always room for improvement no matter where you go.

Guy Fieri, where you at?  Add this diner to your list of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives in Illinois.  I need to know how you like it.
